7 Steps to Clean Your Face the Right Way

7 Steps to Clean Your Face the Right Way
It may seem like an effortless thing to perform every day, but washing your face the right way is critical for healthy, bright skin. It might cause dryness, acne, or irritation if not done right. Follow these seven steps to wash your face the right way:

1. First, wash your hands.
Always wash your hands with soap and water before touching your face. Bacteria and oil can get on your skin from dirty hands, which can trigger breakouts.

2. Take off your makeup and sunscreen.
Use a soft makeup remover or micellar water to get rid of makeup, sunscreen, and extra oil. This makes sure that your cleanser can do its job on your skin.

3. Use lukewarm water to wet your face.
Put lukewarm (not hot) water on your face. While lukewarm water opens pores for a gentle wash, hot water takes away natural oils.

4. Use a mild cleanser
Pick a cleanser that works for your skin type: foam for combination skin, cream for dry skin, and gel for oily skin. For around 30 to 60 seconds, rub it on your skin in circles.

5. Wash All the way through
Wash off the cleaner with warm water until it is all gone. Check for any leftover product, especially around the hairline and jawline.

6. Use a clean towel to pat dry.
Use a soft cloth to gently pat your face. Never rub it, as the friction can irritate the skin. To protect bacteria from spreading, use a towel that you just use on your face.

7. Put on moisturizer right away
Put on a moisturizer that works for your skin type within one to two minutes of washing. This keeps your skin barrier healthy and locks in moisture.

Extra Advice:

Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
Don't wash your skin too much, as this can remove natural oils.
For extensive cleaning, just scrub once or twice a week.
